Selma Cervantes is a Mexican director and screenwriter from Iztapalapa, Mexico City. Her work explores human and social perspectives with a strong focus on female-driven narratives. Her short films Manchester Acatitla and Sweatshop Girl, starring Academy Award nominee Yalitza Aparicio, have been recognized at the Ariel Awards and the Sundance Film Festival. Additionally, she has collaborated with the iconic artist Cyndi Lauper.
